Today is the first day of 2008.

I have made some New Year’s resolutions.

While I was attending a speech last week,

I pondered how I could become better in 2008.

Sometimes we can’t convince other people because we look too proud or not humble enough, so they don’t accept our suggestions.

Nobody wants to follow a self-conceited person.

We have to treat everyone equally.

Rich or poor, a child or an adult,

a VIP or a nobody, we need to treat everyone equally.

Most people spend all of their time thinking about themselves and their own feelings,

and forget to take care of others.

To truly show your concern towards others,

You must consider their needs, and give them what they desire.

Helping others requires wisdom, or else your efforts may be in vain.

For example,

Giving money to the poor only helps them in the short term.

They will soon spend all the money and become poor again.

Poor people need to learn how to help others and not just ask for help from others.

If they can help others, they will not be poor anymore.

Everyone has a place in this world.

God will open a door for you.

If you are an optimistic person, you will always find the path to success.

If you are pessimistic, you will always make excuses for failure.

We need to utilize our abilities to make this a better world.

So from now on,

let us pay more attention to the care of our parents, our children, our co-workers, our friends and the people who surround us.

Let us strive to meet people’s needs.
