One of my Carnegie classmates sent me a DVD of a short film named

" Soaring to New Heights.”『超越巔峰』

In story a grandfather is traveling with his granddaughter when his car breaks down.

They drive carefully and slowly in search of a mechanic and happen upon a chicken farm.

The little girl notices that one of the chickens in the coop looks very different from all the others.

It turned out that the bird she noticed was actually an eagle which had been raised from its birth alongside of chickens.

Consequently, the eagle acted like a chicken and never learned to fly.

The grandfather asked the farmer if he could buy the eagle.

He wanted to teach the eagle to fly, but the farmer said the eagle would never fly because it thinks it’s a chicken,

but the grandfather didn’t relent and in the end, the farmer gave the eagle to the old man.

They brought the eagle to the top of a mountain.

The grandfather told the eagle again and again: You are an eagle, not a chicken.

But the eagle just jumped into the grass and walked around like a chicken.

The granddaughter said to her grandfather: " Maybe the farmer was right.

The eagle will always be a chicken."

The grandfather answered:" I am sure that the eagle will fly if we climb to the top of the mountain.

When they got to the top of the mountain,

the grandfather held the eagle up high and said,

" Now fly!" and let go of the eagle.

The eagle flew away, higher and higher and never came back.

The eagle after all was an eagle.

If you think you are a chicken, you will always be a chicken.

If you think you are an eagle, then you will be.
